Black Sex Links
Black Sex Link chicks can be distinguished when they hatch by the males having a white spot on the top of their heads, and the females
being a solid black. To get our Black Sex Links, we cross Rhode Island Red roosters to Barred Rock hens. When the female matures she will be
black with gold hackel and breast feathers. The males feather out with a barred rock pattern along with a few red feathers.
Black Sex Links are excellent large, brown egg layers that will lay in either hot or cold weather.
Average mature weight of roosters: 9 lbs.
Average mature weight of hens: 7 1/2 lbs.
